I support and endorse John Purser for the LPEA Board of Directors, District 4 (Northeast La Plata County). He is a longtime local and full-time resident. His opponent is not.
John brings a strong background in environmental economics and a career in the tech industry, where he developed skills in critical analysis and problem-solving. His experience as an analyst and “numbers person” makes him well-suited to help guide decisions about LPEA’s future electric rates and energy generation mix. He believes in efficient energy policy that both protects our environment and safeguards the wallets of LPEA members.
Transparency is another priority for John. He has expressed concern about the current board’s level of openness and believes that full disclosure of detailed costs is essential for making fair, sound policies that serve all cooperative members. He has also demonstrated a commitment to accountability by identifying errors involving the ethics violations and election procedures of LPEA board members.
Importantly, John has no financial or employment conflicts of interest. He is fiscally conservative, focused on keeping electric rates affordable and committed to fairness for all members. As an analyst, he carefully considers the consequences of decisions, including unintended impacts that can affect our entire community.
Ballots have arrived. Please take a moment to vote and help power our future with affordable, reliable and clean energy.
