A case in point, with a twist, happened to me as a pedestrian at Main and 11th Street. I was on the south side of 11th heading west. I began to cross Main with nine seconds on the crosswalk timer, and I was hustling to cross when a biker came from my left, between stopped cars. I stopped as he went by me, through the red light and turned left.

I called to him that he had run the light (not to mention not yielding to a pedestrian). His answer: Tough! Makes you wonder.
