At the same time, she’ll use her rearview mirror to see what those of us riding along need in the transition. What more could I seek in a director than what Rachel brings to this position?
She functions with strong leadership, integrity, wisdom, level-headed foresight, a solid grasp of the complexities of LPEA and acute awareness of her constituents’ concerns. As important is her fine-tuned instinct about human nature in the midst of the paradigm shift in which we find ourselves.
This combination of character traits results in proven effective movement toward a future of much needed hope and cultural change. Oberlin College professor David Orr said it well: “Hope is a verb with its sleeves rolled up.” Rachel Landis embodies that concept and will demonstrate it over and over again.
