Looming probation didn’t distract the Chadron State football team just three days after the NCAA announced the Eagles would have to vacate 15 wins.

Chadron State defeated Fort Lewis College 34-10 on Saturday in Chadron, Neb.

The Eagles outgained FLC 476-316 and averaged 7.1 yards per play compared to the Skyhawks’ 3.85.

FLC (4-6, 3-5 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) held a seven minute edge in time of possession but threw three interceptions.

The Skyhawks scored their only touchdown of the day in the second quarter on a 70 yard fumble return by Joey Alvarez after a Ryan Ross sack to cut the Chadron State lead to one score.

Chadron (8-2, 7-1 RMAC) ripped off 17 unanswered points after that to cement its lead and seal the victory.

Three different quarterbacks threw passes for the Skyhawks.

Max Baiz went 7-of-14 for 110 yards, Jordan Doyle 9-of-12 for 89 yards and Trevor Bonifasi 5-of-11 for 29 yards.

Baiz threw one interception, and Doyle tossed two.
