His website, brookieforcouncil.com, gives the details of his work, his numerous civic awards and his stances on the pressing, varied and often contentious issues relating to Durango’s future growth, the needs of neighborhoods and strategies for affordable housing, etc.
For me, however, the reason I urge a vote for him is that he’s the kind of leader we desperately need more of at state and national levels – a true representative ready to carry our values and ideas forward.
Having asked him hard questions, I’ve found him a terrific listener. He listens as if he’s expecting something important and creative to be forthcoming that he and his colleagues might seriously entertain and add to the mix of creative problem-solving. How refreshing and how smart because community building is, indeed, a joint venture.
