As LPEA moves forward with major changes, including the transition away from Tri-State, our cooperative is entering a period of financial uncertainty and operational shift. The decisions being made now will directly impact electric rates, long-term obligations and the level of transparency members can expect. That makes strong, experienced leadership more important than ever.

Greg Barber is running unopposed for District 2, and I believe that gives members an important opportunity to look closely at the qualifications he brings to the table and to actively support his service.

Greg recently retired after a 40-year career in accounting, including 14 years as chief financial officer for a large utility company in Arizona. He brings a deep understanding of utility finance, including budgeting, rate design, regulatory oversight and long-term planning.

At a time when many members are asking questions about rising costs and limited financial detail, Greg has the experience to provide meaningful oversight. He knows how to evaluate complex contracts, ask the right questions and advocate for clear, transparent reporting.

Even in an uncontested race, member engagement still matters. LPEA is a member-owned cooperative, and we all benefit from informed, capable leadership.

I support Greg Barber and encourage others to learn more about his background and the value he can bring during these important years ahead.
