What I find unsettling is that the vast majority of U.S. jobs are not in manufacturing but in the service sector. Service sector jobs (retail, restaurants, health care, education, service and repair etc.,) account for a whopping 80 percent of U.S. jobs, while manufacturing jobs account for only 8 percent. If you include mining and construction, that bumps it up to a little under 13 percent.
I get where Trump’s comfort zone is and I understand such meetings serve a purpose, but how and when are the issues of fair wages, working conditions, gender equity, etc., of concern to the vast majority of U.S. workers, going to be addressed? Also, the free press must continue to keep the pressure on this administration!
