Though this Labor Day picture of the Durango Wheel Club is somewhat blurry, it still stirs the imagination. The club was founded the year this picture was taken and still exists today, although the bicycles and clothing have changed a bit. This picture shows the Columbia Hotel and part of the Strater Hotel in the background. The empty lot is the east side of the 600 block of Main Avenue, occupied today by Joyful Nook Gallery, Good Karma, Down the Rabbit Hole and Durango Olive Oil Co.
