Joe McIntyre, chief of the Bayfield Marshal’s Office, on Friday rides the department’s Segway, which will be used to patrol the Fourth of July parade in Bayfield. “We got this through the government surplus program in 2013, and it is very useful getting around in large crowds like the parade this Sunday.” The Independence Day fun will include a pancake breakfast, craft sale, fun run, beer garden, vendors and live music. The parade, with 180 participants, starts at noon. (Jerry McBride/Durango Herald)
