With the early water restrictions this year and the fact that we live in a high desert, one has to wonder why so much lush green grass sits completely unused in the Bodo industrial park.

Acres of lawn outside businesses and between highways could be converted to low- or no-water native landscaping, which would look better, require less maintenance and cost less – and most importantly result in a lot of saved water that could be put toward actively used turf in city parks or elsewhere.
