Maryann Fassett was thrilled to win both the grand champion and reserved grand champion titles. Five classes of sheep competed on Wednesday, with the winner and second-place lamb in each class moving into the champion judging round. Judge Ryan McCoon of Escalon, California praised the youth for their determination in raising champion market lambs.

Judging continues Thursday for swine, poultry and goats at the county fair, with rabbits, beef and dairy cattle competition taking place on Friday.
