The city of Durango announces these closures for the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays:

City administrative offices will be closed Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. This includes City Hall, Community Development and Engineering, the Police Station and Substation, the Transit Center, Greenmount Cemetery, Parks and Recreation administrative offices, and the Santa Rita Water Reclamation Facility administrative offices.The Durango Community Recreation Center will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. It will be open 5:45 a.m. to noon Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Chapman Hill Ice Rink will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The Transit Center will also be closed on Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The Fort Lewis College Morning Commuter Shuttle will not operate through Jan. 15 in conjunction with the college’s winter break.Trash and recycling: There will be no commercial pickup Dec. 25.
