75 years ago: Lightning struck a downtown residence during the night and caused the family living there an electric shock, which reportedly rendered a little girl unconscious and killed their house cat.

50 years ago: A California man was killed in a vehicle crash 16 miles west of Durango on U.S. Highway 160 when his 1965 Mustang went off the road and overturned.

25 years ago: A stolen gumball machine that belonged to the Kiwanis Club was found behind some storage units near the intersection of Holly Avenue and 32nd Street.
