As a lifelong educator and former state representative deeply invested in promoting public education, I am saddened to learn that Sen. Michael Bennet’s super PAC has accepted millions of dollars from individuals – including billionaire Michael Bloomberg – and dark-money groups that advocate directing public tax dollars to private schools.

That approach would further strain public schools already woefully underfunded because of TABOR’s ever-tightening chokehold on education budgets.

Bennet has accepted more than $3.5 million for his super PAC from these special interests, and his campaign has reportedly received 40% of its direct contributions from people outside Colorado – not from Coloradans like you and me.

That is unacceptable.
