The midterm primary is June 30, when U.S. Sen. Bennet and current eight-year Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser are on the Democratic ballot for governor of Colorado. I hope you will join me in voting for Weiser.

I have admired and volunteered for Bennet since 2010. Nonetheless, I am now supporting Weiser for governor. Both men have proven track records – Bennet in Washington as the longest-serving Coloradan senator since the 1800s, Weiser as our current fierce attorney general.

Weiser’s track record of winning 30-some lawsuits against the Trump administration is nearly beyond belief. That is coupled with his incredibly comprehensive plan for his future accomplishments as governor. Let’s give him a chance to make it happen.

Bennet has greater name recognition, serving us so well on the national stage for 17 years. But Weiser knows our local communities more intimately than Bennet. We have frequently seen Weiser in Durango, where he offers wholehearted accessibility, familiarity and deep listening. In his words, “You just can’t get rid of me.”

Watch for your primary ballot in June and remember Phil Weiser for governor.
