75 years ago: A notice was printed that told motor vehicle operators with renewed licenses not to be concerned if they did not receive licenses within 30 days. The motor vehicle department “found it impossible, because of rush of business,” and “automatically extended receipts for another 30-day period.”
50 years ago: County commissioners announced that the mosquito control program had ended in Montezuma County, with good results in Dolores and Mancos. The program applied a granule form of the insecticide Baytex to mosquito-breeding areas in the county.
25 years ago: A black-and-white cat gave birth to three kittens inside the air-conditioning unit at Plaza Pharmacy, 28 Town Plaza.
