The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports Delta County Judge Jin Ho Pack on Thursday set a $10 million cash or surety bond for Edgar Macias-Moreno, of Hotchkiss.
Prosecutors asked that Macias-Moreno be held without bond, but the judge granted the request of Deputy State Public Defender Shandea Sergent for a cash or surety bond.
Police say Macias-Moreno turned himself in Wednesday morning, about a week after Madelaine Loh was last seen at the farm where she lived in the Hotchkiss area. Her body was found Wednesday in a remote area of Millard County, Utah.
Delta County Sheriff Fred McKee says the cause of death is under investigation.
