She was shot by an illegal immigrant, Francisco Sanchez, who had been convicted of seven felonies, deported five times and returned six times, the last to an anarchic sanctuary city.

The law would require mandatory jail time for convicted aggravated felons who come back into the U.S. after deportation. In addition, it could be used to remove gang members, drug dealers and many other dangerous and unwanted thugs from society.

Any sane person would agree this law is good and necessary. Sen. Michael Bennet, though, followed the lead of the disgraceful Sen. Harry Reid, a very bad man who should not be allowed to serve in any capacity, putting party politics over justice and safety.

Bennet was pandering to constituency and big city mayors, not honoring his oath of office to protect the United States and its citizens, but then Bennet is not an honorable person.

Voters should remember this in November.
