The project will address safety for all road users, including motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. The tour will leave from Schneider Park, and city staff members and project engineers will be on hand to update the public about the project.
The Rossa Avenue Connect project will include a 10-foot shared-use path along the east side of Roosa Avenue from Ninth Street to El Paso Street and will also upgrade curb ramps to make the sidewalks ADA-compliant.
Goff Engineering was selected to complete design and engineering of the project. The design was completed in October 2018. The city received a $948,644 Transportation Alternatives Program grant through the Colorado Department of Transportation to construct the project and provided a local match of $951,356 using money from the 2015 Half Cent Sales and Use Tax fund. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2023.
