The purpose of this letter is not to try to change anyone’s mind, but rather to express why I am pleased to cast my ballot for Diane Mitsch Bush.

Voting for Diane is my way to express that I care about children’s health and education. It matters to me to protect our environment and our public land for future generations. I want quality health care that doesn’t discriminate against pre-existing conditions or penalize those who are vulnerable. I hope for strong borders but not a “wall” or “policy” that separates families seeking asylum from tyranny.

I want civility and ethical behavior in government, actively governed by checks and balances, international diplomacy and leaders who are exemplary role models for a world free of tyranny.

I want equity and unconditional respect for women, their right to make decisions about their reproductive health and for them to be free from sexual harassment and abuse. I want respect for the LGBTQ community, as these are our neighbors, sons, daughters and grandchildren.

I want to know our Congress is working together to improve our country.

I am hopeful. Please vote.
