Because of the new tariff, fewer people would drive to get food. Climate change/global warming would necessarily benefit.

If the parking rates increased significantly after, for instance, 15 minutes, people would probably spend less time shopping and purchase less. Obesity would decline, and the health of the population would necessarily improve.

Results could be dramatic. Health-care costs could plummet. With recycling in mind, the council could recycle the soon-to-be-obsolete parking meters for this project.

The City Council’s statements could be dramatic, and the populace should be most grateful for its wisdom.
