The tax would be used for administration and gambling addiction services, but most would be used for water projects included in the Colorado Water Plan.
I have been involved in water projects for nearly 40 years, including development of the Colorado Water Plan. I support DD even though the annual tax is not large, around $10 million per year; Southwest Colorado will get its share to continue improvement of existing water facilities (irrigation and domestic), construct new facilities, and studies to better manage our water.
This is a targeted use of taxes for needs identified in the Colorado Water Plan that will benefit our water users.
