When I heard LPEA was transitioning from reliance on outdated coal energy to local distributed and renewable sources, I was proud of my community and excited about the future Durango is building for itself.

Then I thought of my friend Jenn Jenkins, whom I have known since college in Flagstaff, where we both pursued Environmental Science degrees and where I first saw the spark in her eyes over renewable energy. She has since devoted her career to furthering policies that promote renewable energy and creating programs that bridge the gap between policy and understanding within rural communities.

As we approach the upcoming LPEA board of directors election, it is worth noting that Jenn is perfectly suited for this role.

Jenn has my vote not only because her work supports rural utilities and county leaders navigating their own energy transitions, but because of her passion for rural America. She’s from a small town in New Hampshire where everyone knows everyone — it put a powerful desire to serve community in her blood. From Girls on the Run to Parker’s Animal Rescue and Rotary, Jenn always finds a way to give back.

Elect Jenn to represent District 3 and you get more than a savvy businesswoman with more than 20 years of experience in renewables. You get a compassionate leader who cares deeply about every person’s point of view and vision for our community.
