The letter to the editor from Martha Mason (June 6) notes some of our inadequacies in this area but also mentions that the City Council is aware and working to fulfill those needs where it can.

One thing you would find in Durango is many locals that would be more than willing to assist any disabled person with a restroom door or a ride to town from the airport. There are far too many tourists who enjoy Durango for its uniqueness to worry about the few who will find fault.

These two stories are right up there with last year’s visiting Texan who couldn’t find a Bud Light. I still chuckle whenever I think about it.
