Firefighters responded to a vacant house on fire Friday evening in the 300 block of Bayfield Parkway in Bayfield. Randy Larson, deputy chief of operations of the Upper Pine Fire Protection District, said the fire was reported shortly after 6 p.m. The structure was a total loss. Larson said the cause appears to have been children playing in the building. Los Pinos Fire Protection District also responded.
