But I wanted to make clear that although a judge, Native tribal leader or the couple themselves may sign the license, we as Unitarian Universalist clergy have been performing wedding ceremonies for LGBTQ couples for many years. Our denomination not only provides a place of inclusion, but also has been ordaining LGBTQ people and assisting them to find congregations. I am happy to meet with couples who want to craft a service or schedule a date to sign a license with people who want to know that their wedding is not only legal, but also blessed by the love that respects the worth and dignity of all loving couples.
