To begin the tour, a presentation about various habitats, characteristics of bird families and species, selection and use of binoculars, and choice of field guides will be held at 7 a.m. May 12 at Cortez Cultural Center, 25 N. Market St.
Participants will be taken to a local wildlife preserve to practice identification skills after the presentation. Participants can bring a picnic lunch.
Tour cost is $10 and registration is required.
