The city of Durango will conduct a functional crisis response training exercise Thursday at Durango Transit Center, 250 W. Eighth St.

The transit center will run regular 7 a.m. departures, then close from 7:15 a.m. to about 1 p.m. while emergency responders conduct a mock-threat scenario. Transit users and drivers should be aware of delays and detours during the exercise:

Transit stops will occur on 1-hour intervals, not the regular 30-minute intervals.Transit center transfers, including Road Runner, loop and trolley services, will occur at the City Operations Center, 105 Sawyer Drive in Bodo Industrial Park.The eastbound lane of Eighth Street from the transit center to Camino del Rio will be closed and detours will be in place.For schedule and route information, call 259-5438.

The emergency training is designed to test the Continuity of Operations Plan for Durango Transit Center.
