I had to assume they were lost for good. So I paid a locksmith to break into my car.
What was my crime? Trusting the USPS to deliver mail in a timely fashion to Durango. I’ve had it with the USPS: It is completely incompetent.
You can’t trust the Postal Service the way you can UPS or FedEx. They couldn’t or wouldn’t properly forward mail from my address on Fifth Avenue to a P.O. box, so important letters from the DMV and IRS languished, as well as several packages, which were usually left on an neighbor’s porch!
After defending the USPS for years, I now agree with conservatives: It’s time we drowned this incompetent agency in a bathtub. They fill our boxes with unwanted junk mail while failing to deliver first-class and priority mail in a timely fashion.
And God help you if the sender didn’t record the tracking number, because all the USPS offers Durangoans is excuses!
