Directed by two-time Academy Award nominated director Joshua Oppenheimer, “The Look of Silence” is the story of a survivor of the mass killings targeting communists in1965-66 in Indonesia who confronts his brother’s killers – an incredibly brave act given the fact that the murderers remain in power.
This film is a companion piece to Oppenheimer’s other film, “The Act of Killing.”
The screening will start at 5 p.m., with snacks and a cash bar opening at 4:30 p.m. and a discussion and message from Oppenheimer afterward.
Proceeds from the event will benefit La Plata County Thrive! Living Wage Coalition.
Tickets are $25 and are available at Animas City Theatre or by calling 903-0957.
