New quarterbacks.

We’re only a quarter of the way through our NFL season, and the NFL landscape is changing drastically.

Yet, Shauna Dooley-Wallace of Durango was the model of consistency.

Our Week 4 Gridiron Green winner scored 11 out of 13 correctly, one behind the national pacesetter, Amanda Nelson of Virginia Beach, to stand alone atop our local standings. She beat out a quartet of 10s, while our past weekly champions filed in with a 7 (Aaron Archuleta) and two 6s (Doug Carman and Marcia Kuzma).

The Gridiron Guru filed a 6, as well, and for the season is seven off Archuleta’s pace.

Week 5

Bye: Miami, Oakland

Thursday, Oct. 2

Minnesota at Green Bay (KCNC, KREZ; NFL Network) – Speaking of new quarterbacks, Teddy Bridgewater splashed onto the scene with an auspicious debut in a home win over the Falcons. But he’s questionable with an ankle injury, so the Vikings are pondering another switch to an old starter. Pick: Packers, 33-16. Line: Packers by 9½.

Sunday, Oct. 5

Cleveland at Tennessee – Browns off the bye. Pick: Browns, 20-19. Line: Titans by 2.

Tampa Bay at New Orleans – Two of the Week 4 outliers, New Orleans lost to Dallas, and Tampa Bay beat Pittsburgh. Expect normalcy this week. Pick: Saints, 27-20. Line: Saints by 10½.

Houston at Dallas (KREZ) – Are these new Cowboys legit? Pick: Cowboys, 28-20. Line: Cowboys by 4.

Chicago at Carolina – The Panthers aren’t right, and the Bears are 2-0 on the road with wins at the N.Y. Jets and San Francisco. Pick: Bears, 27-21. Line: Panthers by 2½.

St. Louis at Philadelphia – The Rams are coming off a bye, but … Pick: Eagles, 33-23. Line: Eagles by 7.

Atlanta at N.Y. Giants – Are these new Giants for real? Pick: Giants, 28-17. Line: Giants by 4.

Buffalo at Detroit – The E.J. Manuel experience is over, and Kyle Orton is (not) the answer. Pick: Lions, 26-16. Line: Lions by 7.

Baltimore at Indianapolis (KCNC) – These two have history. Pick: Colts, 31-30. Line: Colts by 3½.

Pittsburgh at Jacksonville – Lose to the winless Buccaneers, why not to Blake Bortles and the winless Jaguars? Pick: Jaguars, 27-23. Line: Steelers by 6½.

Arizona at Denver (KASA; KRSJ 100.5 FM) – Both elite teams are coming off bye weeks, but Carson Palmer remains down and out, so, advantage, Peyton Manning. Pick: Broncos, 27-17. Line: Broncos by 7.

Kansas City at San Francisco (KREZ) – 49ers foil Alex Smith’s return to the Bay. Pick: 24-23. Line: 49ers by 6½.

N.Y. Jets at San Diego – Philip Rivers and the Chargers roll. Pick: Chargers, 27-13. Line: Chargers by 6½.

Cincinnati at New England (KOBF, KUSA) – It’s a pick ’em!? After the Bengals’ bye week and the Patriots’ “performance” Monday night, I pick Cincinnati. Pick: Bengals, 19-17. Line: pick ’em.

Monday, Oct. 6

Seattle at Washington (ESPN) – East Coast Washington vs. West Coast Washington. There’s been a security breach out east. Pick: Seahawks, 33-16. Line: Seahawks by 7.
