I have to say that the whole event was done with noticeable professionalism and with precise organization. The whole town seems to embrace this event, and it shows by how much fun you all were having. The aid stations were well-staffed and had plenty of nourishment for those needing it.

Being able to ride on that road without any traffic was such a pleasure, and makes the challenge much more manageable. What a great motivation the spectators were on Molas Pass, thanks to the smiling young girl who gave me some water. Sunshine poked out as I crested Molas Pass – must have been my dad who had passed 20 years ago watching over me.

In addition to that moment, seeing Flight for Life and other medical staff on top made me appreciate even more what you all do to make this the best event.

Thank you, all – I know it must take hundreds of volunteers for the excellent job you all performed at this year’s 44th IHBC. I am grateful to have entered and been part of such an epic event. That ride I had down Greene Street in Silverton is one that I will never forget. God Bless you all.
