This is wrong.
As a student of Bayfield High School, I can say that this doesn’t make sense. We sit in a way that, should a shooter enter the classroom, we are sitting ducks. Students and teachers should be taught to throw objects and engage the individual. If 20students were to simultaneously pick up and throw any object close to them at an attacker, then not only would his ability to focus and take aim be severely hampered, but also the possibility of one or more of those objects hitting him and taking him out is high. Tactics such as this would lower the casualties of a school shooting immensely. Rather than a shooter being able to move from classroom to classroom, he or she would be stopped at the first classroom he entered.
This is not the only answer to this terrible problem, but it’s a start.
