Long before the disturbing events of last August, a grassroots coalition of local businesses, organizations and individuals began forming in support of Good Samaritan legislation. The San Juan Clean Water coalition is now over 70 businesses strong and growing by the day. As the owner of a local fly fishing outfitter business, the health of the Animas is paramount to my business’ livelihood and the success of our clients. We joined the San Juan Clean Water coalition to demonstrate our support for their five point plan of action.
The Animas River is Durango and Silverton’s economic driver. It’s our identity, our soul, the place where we play. The very health of our community relies on the health of the Animas. Let’s stand together to ensure our river did not suffer in vain. The objectives of the San Juan Clean Water coalition deserve your support.
I urge you to visit the coalition’s website to learn more at www.sanjuancleanwater.org. Together we can make a difference.
