Jeremy Szura and the Durango Demons will carry their big bats into Thursday’s home game against Montezuma-Cortez, senior day for Szura and seven of his teammates. Szura is hitting .457 on the season, and the Demons are hitting .359. Durango (7-6, 2-4 Southwestern League) is coming off a 5-1 win over No. 4 Delta on Tuesday at home, while Montezuma-Cortez (5-9-1, 0-6 SWL) lost 16-2 at home to Bayfield High School. BHS (9-3) will play Ignacio (5-4) at 3 p.m. Thursday at IHS.
