Snow removal downtown has always been a challenge. This street scene shows the 900 block of Main Avenue. The cafe sign at the center of the block on the left ( west) side was the Canton Restaurant. Today, the El Moro Spirits and Tavern is located there. The building with the sign that reads Stewart Building Furnished Rooms now houses the Central Hotel and the El Rancho Tavern. On the right side of the street, the cigar store is now the Spaaah Shop, Day Spa.

Ed Horvat for Animas Museum, edhorvat@animasmuseum.org
