Solar gardens are collective solar panel installations when an individual can’t afford the cost alone or has a house not well oriented to receive solar rays.

Investors in solar gardens receive credit on their electric bill in proportion to the amount of savings generated by their investment.

LPEA board members have authorized five solar gardens, with two in the works and three pending. All projects must be installed by Dec. 31.
