Arizona jam band Spafford is next in the Fort Lewis Community Concert Hall “Concerts in the Park” series. The band will play a free show at 5 p.m. Thursday in Buckley Park. Comparable in sound and style to bands such as Phish and The Disco Biscuits, Spafford embraces the seemingly lost art of the jam. Attendees are asked to support the region’s wildland firefighters by participating in the “Sock it to Me” drive to bring socks for area firefighters. Specifically, firefighters need new, high-quality, over-the-calf socks. Preferred brands are Fits, Smartwool, Thorlo and Keen. All donated socks will be given to Durango Fire & Rescue Authority for distribution.
