Rocky Mountain National Park reported 15 new inches of snow at Bear Lake on Monday. The Loveland ski area reported 14.

However, U.S. 40 over Berthoud Pass closed at midday because of the potential for avalanches. U.S. 6 over Loveland Pass also was closed. Eastbound Interstate 70 closed for hours between Vail and Vail Pass after semitrailers got stuck. Westbound I-70 temporarily closed from Copper Mountain to Vail Pass following accidents.

The weather prompted Colorado State University and the University of Colorado to close in the afternoon.
