Club President Jim Lokey said they will be having timed radar runs all day long, with single snowmobiles being timed. The racing is a benefit for the club.
Lokey pointed out that the club gets about $27,000 a year from Colorado Parks and Wildlife to groom snowmobile trails for multiple use.
But he said the club really needs about $30,000 to make sure the Silverton and Molas trails are open.
In all, the club maintains 104 miles of trails.
“This is a big fundraiser for the club,” Lokey said.
On Saturday, the Radar Detector Run sign-up is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., with the run starting at 11 a.m. On Sunday, the Drag Races sign-up is 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., with racing starting at 11 a.m.
