Durango has been abuzz with opinions on the proposed science, theatre, education, arts and music facility, and now residents will have a chance to share those opinions for the record.

The consultants from Berkebile, Nelson, Immenschuh, McDowell – hired to conduct the feasibility study for the STEAM Park – will be downtown taking comments Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday, they’ll be at the Durango Arts Center from 5 to 7 p.m. as part of the First Thursdays Art Walk. And from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Noel Night, they’ll be at the Durango Welcome Center, at 802 Main Avenue.

Residents also can take the survey online.

The proposed project has an estimated price tag of $30 million.

One member of the BNIM team grew up in Durango: Architect and project manager Matthew Winter completed his bachelor’s degree at Fort Lewis College before getting his architectural degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He still maintains a home here.
