Matt brings an economics background – his area of study in college. After graduating, his work with young to college-age students, and being an intermediary with parents added to his excellent school board qualifications.
Matt gathers the data needed for strategy and decision-making and then proceeds to inspire action in others. I have witnessed his leadership across age groups, adjusting his communication as needed for effective delegation and end results.
Based on operating under his leadership, I know his thorough approach to studying issues, collaborative style and interpersonal relationship building. He is not a micromanager, but rather able to envision the bigger picture and operate at the level of decision-making regardless of the difficulty at hand.
In the midst of the hard work of the school board, Matt would maintain an awareness of teacher morale, so important for their critical work in the classroom and the unified voice of the district.
When you receive your ballot, I hope you will join me in voting for Matt Sheldon for the 9-R school board seat.
