Matt has an excellent track record of working in the Durango community. He has worked at the Boys & Girls Club of Durango and Fort Lewis College, volunteered for many years with the Adaptive Ski program and has been heavily involved in local politics for nearly a decade. His history of work in the community demonstrates that Matt has great energy and enthusiasm that the school board could benefit from.

But the school board will be facing issues in the next two years that need more than just commitment to community, including dealing with the incredibly complex problem of securing funding that the district desperately needs. Matt’s work background has equipped him to approach these issues with a strong political acumen and great integrity to find solutions that include the concerns of the board, the community, teachers, and students.

Matt Sheldon brings a fresh perspective to the current school board. His political skills, commitment to community and teacher outreach, and deep love for the town of Durango have convinced me beyond any doubt that he is the best choice for school board. I hope you will join me in voting for him.
