Durango High School freshman Maggie Hackett has stepped right into the Demons’ varsity singles lineup this year. Hackett and the Demons will host Montezuma-Cortez at 4 p.m. Tuesday at DHS in the their home finale. “Stepping into a No. 2 singles match in your first match can be daunting, but she handled it with a lot of poise and focus,” DHS head coach Dave Weisfeldt said of Hackett earlier this season. The Demons are finally competing at full strength after dealing with a rash of injuries and scheduling conflicts earlier in the season. They took third at the Delta County Invitational on Saturday.
