The Southwest Seed Library will be among many organizations sponsoring the Local Seed Protection and Mandala Event. A mandala, a ritual Sanskrit symbol, and an information booth will be established at the Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The focus is to celebrate and explore our ancestral relationship, natural rights and responsibilities with seeds. It is a solidarity movement with Protección Ancestral Semillas in Ecuador, bringing awareness to the GMO seed industry’s influence on government policies that adversely affect our sharing and saving of seeds.
