Participants will train with sawyers to assist with the effort to keep trails clear and accessible throughout wilderness areas.

The course has three components:

An eight-hour online course with test, which must be completed before May 15.Three-hour session in classroom to teach saw care and recent new information, May 15.Eight-hour field session, in which students use the saws to cut out trees on the ground (bucking) and move the cut sections. The trees may be in piles or single trees.
