Thompson is from Pennsylvania, graduated from Drexel University with a psychology degree and enrolled in engineering classes at Fort Lewis College when he moved to Durango.
He worked as an intern and CAD designer at Russell Planning and Engineering for two years prior to being hired as an employee.
