Run for the Mountains 10k and chili tasting to take place Sept. 14

Participants can run the 10k trail run over Hogsback and/or help judge the best tasting chili while drinking Ska beer.

The run covers a 1,124 foot elevation gain over Hogsback trail and through Overend Mountain Park. After the race at 11 a.m., all runners will receive a free entry into the Backcountry Experience chili chase cook-off, featuring more than 20 dishes from local businesses and organizations.

The run is sponsored by Backcountry Experience. Proceeds will benefit the San Juan Mountains Association’s efforts to promote local public lands conservation. Those interested in being race course volunteers may contact [email protected].
