The sculpture is an eyesore with a very questionable selection process. A sculpture by a Bayfield artist was the first choice. Apparently, Sherry Dugdale decided to install this pile of rocks instead. The artist from the East did not have the necessary insurance to be allowed on the site by the construction company, or the steel, etc., needed for the installation. We Durangoans had to pay extra for those services to be provided.

I am an artist and own a local gallery. The art of this region my forte. It is an opinion, but an educated opinion: This thing is not art.
