Join fellow history buffs for a special fundraising trip on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, benefiting the Animas Museum and the Southwest Colorado Humanities Roundtable. The train will leave the station at 479 Main Ave., at 9:15 a.m. April 21 and returns at 2:30 p.m.

Onboard, local historian Charles DiFerdinando will share insights about the region’s history, the railroad and the power plant. The journey includes a visit to the Tacoma Power Plant, where electricity was first transmitted to Silverton in May 1906. Thanks to the D&SNG and Xcel Energy for making this event possible.

Tickets cost $100 with space limited to 42 people.
